SUMMER CAMP
Summer Camp Rates
Summer camp costs $115 for each week your child participates plus a one-time registration fee of $25 per child. (Reduced fees during 4th of July week. Contact Dawn Patterson for details)
These fees include 2 daily snacks, light breakfast, Friday lunch, materials, field studies and guest presenters.

Payment & Form Deadlines
Completed registration forms and registration fee are due by Friday, May 11, 2012. Register early to reserva a spot. Balance is due the Thursday prior to the week your child is scheduled to attend or a $10 late fee will be added.

Camp Hours and Contact Information
Camp is open from 7:30am until 6pm, Monday through Friday. Camp staff can be contacted during these hours at (941) 981-5345. Camp is closed Wednesday, July 4th.

Drop-In Information
Drop-ins are allowed at a rate of $30/day. The $25 registration fee must be paid and registration paperwork completed prior to being dropped off. The drop-in rate does NOT include meals.

Field Studies
Spirit shirts are to be worn on field trips. All field studies and weekly activities are subject to change due to circumstances beyond our control.

EACH FRIDAY IS WATER DAY!! PACK YOUR BATHING SUITS, TOWELS, AND SUNBLOCK.
WATER SHOES ARE HELPFUL FOR ANY TENDER FEET.

Anyone for a game of Sharks and Minnows? Students take on the Sea World and learn about creatures and plants Under the Sea! Students will explore the bottom of the sea (our baby pool) and retrieve sea creatures or even a sunken treasure!!!  
Crafts to include creating a Soctopus, water coloring an underwater scene, or sand art.
*Daily Reading and Math lessons according to individual grade level.
Do you have animal instincts? Students learn classifications of animals and their habitats. Enter the jungle, forest, sea or sky where you discover animal characteristics and how they adapt to certain environments. Play “Survivor of the fittest” or “wittiest”. We will hold a contest for the best impression of whatever animal is picked out of a hat!
Crafts to include creating your own jungle animal mask, animal foot print stone, or bird feeder perch.
Reduce, Reuse and Recycle is our Moto this week! Students will take a pre-test to show how conscious they are about being Earth friendly. Students will learn how to waste less, recycle more and reuse items that can cut down on how much we take to the landfill. We will have a recycled art contest, plant small flowers around campus and discuss facts of water conservation.
Crafts to include creating masterpieces with recycled materials that would otherwise be thrown away.
Do you have what it takes to camp outdoors? Students will learn first aid, Florida native plants and animals and other camping needs throughout this week. Go on a hike to discover alligators, lizards, snakes and more (don’t tell your kids they’re not real). Create a fort and wave your Florida flag.
Learn about Florida weather and get prepared for the hurricane season!
Crafts to include Florida flags, tin-foil snakes, or shell art.
Each day of Summer Camp includes Reading and Math lessons based on individual grade level.

Whatch-ma-call-it, Whosey-whats-it and Thing-a-ma-jigger’s will be created this week!
Students will be allowed to open up their creative minds and create their own designs. Students will be provided with various supplies to also make up their own game, invention or artistic masterpiece! Make your own written code and prepare a secret message for someone. We may just discover the next great inventor this week!!!!
Crafts to include individualized works from various supplies given.
Adventurous detectives need only apply this week! Student’s will create an old diary or journal with torn out pages then hide the pages around the campus and have other’s search for them. After the diary is completed, all the clues should lead to the hidden artifact. Students will create different obstacles and go through a “lava pit” and “snake pit” to work on team building skills.
Crafts to include making old maps, compasses, or hour glass.
Star Gazing – need I say more? The students will come up with all kinds of interesting space “crafts”. Space Frontier’s will be in search of aliens that have specific Intel on new planets. Students and Teachers dress up like aliens from a distant galaxy.  
Crafts to include creating spaceships and planets with sticks, foil, paint, paper and beads.
Perfect timing for our Summer Olympic games in London starting on the 27th! Student’s will carry the torch and learn various countries, games and sportsmanship in this week. Daily competitions will be held to challenge skills and earn medals. 
Crafts to include making country flags, medals or Olympic torches.
