Journalism Club is available to students in 4-8 grade. The club is divided into two areas: yearbook and newspaper. Once an edition of our student newspaper, IMAGINE THIS! is published, the students switch jobs to allow them to work on each area of journalism.
Students in this club must have a signed reference form from their current or previous writing teacher, as this club requires a great deal of writing. Activities in this club include researching an event, interviewing staff or students, writing a story, taking pictures, or laying out pages of the yearbook. Students may be required to cover an event that is not during school hours in order to write their story.
KIDS LIVE MEETS ON FRIDAYS FROM 3:05PM TP 4:00PM

In Sewing Class, we practice the lost art of hand sewing (a VERY useful skill) combined with a love of creative expression and fun!
Class lengths and prices change depending on the project supplies and complexity. All levels of sewing (and new to sewing) students are welcome and projects are designed to be appropriate for any age or gender.
After School Athletic Program
The i9 Sports After School program is an exciting alternative to typical after school care.
When you sign-up for i9 Sports After School you are insuring that your child will get exercise, learn about healthy living and sportsmanship values, drills and skills related to sports taught to them each day. During this process they will also be learning about team work and how valuable each person is on a team.
With i9 Sports we take a structured approach to every part of our aftercare timeframe allowing time for children do some homework before the athletic session. We do this to instill in children that its best to have a balance of mental and physical exercise.
Note: The time allotted for homework may or may not be enough for every child to finish their homework each session.

Here the teacher demonstrates the science behind the fun as students explore all the realms of Physical, Life and Earth Science. This is a K-8 program, broken into 4 quarters that follow the school calendar. Children are placed into an age appropriate group based on enrollment.
Prior projects include: learning about polymers through the creation of Gak/slime, using solar energy to create artistic paper prints called cyanotypes, exploring circuitry by putting together HO trains and tracks, creating volcanoes with baking soda and vinegar, making fossils with clay, planting various plants and flowers, as well as attending to their continued growth. Next year we plan on assisting with the continued plant beautification of the school and outdoor garden. This will include the creation of a butterfly garden, with the use of hydroponics and solar energy. All donations are greatly accepted and much appreciated. We are looking for more plants, soil, fertilizer and tools.
For more information, please see Dorisann Brust.
